There are eight freestanding reinforced concrete shelters that were built around 1955-8. on the Clontarf promenade. They have curved concrete roofs and walls with concrete benches. They have round openings to east and west and two diamond or round openings at the back. They are iconic structures and part of the Dublin landscape.
