irish Landscape photos

We are two great friends who love Photography and decided to share some of our work with the world.

My name is Ray Mullen and was I was introduced to photography by my Grandfather who was a very keen photographer and used to develop his own photographs. I was fascinated by how he used to bring images to life in a darkroom where the only light was a red light that he used to call the safe light.

How a blank piece of paper was transformed into beautiful black and white images. From then on I was hooked.

My very first camera was a polaroid instant camera from Santa Clause and I absolutely loved it. I then progressed to a kodak disc camera which was a birthday present from my parents. I then progressed to numerous film cameras until around 1988 I saved up enough money to buy a Canon EOS 650 35 mm SLR. I was made. At the time I couldn’t afford to buy a Canon Lens but settled for a cheaper alternative with the Canon Mount.

I loved taking photographs of wildlife and the local Zoo at the Phoenix park was a place I visited frequently.

Since then I have progressed to many different digital cameras although I was reluctant at first to change from film.

My love for photography will always be there and everywhere I visit, my camera equipment will always be the first thing that goes in the bag.

A good few years ago I decided to go back and study photography in college and learned so many different techniques and learnt about all the amazing famous photographers, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Steve McCurry, David Bailey being among my favourites and I currently enjoy John Rankin’s work , it is astonishing.

I feel absolutely priviliged to have met so many amazing people along my photography journey and feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful country as Ireland with it’s amazing scenery and beautiful animals.

My name is Tommy Walsh. I have been a professional Photographer for over 35 years. I have worked in the area of Medical Photography for 30 years, graduating with a BSc from Caledonian University Scotland. I have received many awards in the specialised field of Medical Photography. 

I have developed a love of Landscape and wildlife photography and myself and my great friend Ray had discussed many times how we should develop a landscape and wildlife Photography business. And now we have finally bitten the bullet. I gain huge enjoyment from capturing landscape and wildlife photography and developed a lifetime philosophy of ‘taking only photographs and leaving only footprints’. I value the opportunity to share my landscape and wildlife photography with you, and hope you enjoy
the photography and might even purchase a print …or two.
