The Phoenix Park in Dublin is currently home to approximately 600 Fallow Deer. When the park was established in 1662 by the Duke of Ormond its original name was Royal Deer Park and the fallow deer were imported from Great Britain. Many of whom are descendants of the original herd introduced in the 1660s. A visit to the Phoenix park is highly recommended to see these beautiful animals.
