The Bull Wall and the Iconic Chimneys at Poolbeg also known as the Poolbeg Stacks. The Bull wall extends from the estuary of the River Tolka and the district of Clontarf nearly 3 km into Dublin Bay. The Poolbeg power station is next to the decommisioned Pigeon House generating station. Electricity was first generated here in 1903. The name Pigeon house comes from a caretakers lodge that was originally build here in 1760. This lodge was intended to provide rest and storage facilities for workers as they built the Great South Wall.
