Robin

Without question the Robin has to be one of Irelands favourite garden birds. It seems to trust people, often coming close when we re in the garden and sometimes taking food from our hands. Some Irish people say when they see a Robin coming close that it is a loved one that has passed on sending us a message. The Robin is also a symbol of Christmas and they often appear on Christmas decorations and on Christmas cards.
